Our Philosophy
We believe that language learning is about communicating with people from other cultures. This is why we want to teach the Arabic spoken by real people. We also believe that language learning should be interesting, and can be a tool for educating people in culture, history, and the real life of people from the cultures they want to learn about. This is why our blog, podcast, and Arabic classes all teach the Arabic spoken by real people, and help you to understand their real stories, and the context that they live in.
Who We Are
One of us speaks Arabic. The other is trying. In our Arabic teaching and learning, we have both experienced the frustrating lack of Arabic language resources that are not in Fus’ha (formal Arabic or MSA), which is not spoken by people in Arab Countries. So we decided to use our skills to create quality content in spoken Arabic to help out people like us.
Amer is from Suweida, in Syria. He moved to Lebanon in 2011 and has been teaching conversational Arabic for four years.
Keire is from Kilkenny, in Ireland. She moved to Lebanon in 2018. She now lives and works in Geneva.
ListenOur Podcast 'Real Arabic' is designed to help you to improve your listening comprehension and vocabulary by listening to the stories of people that we collect from around the Middle East, as well as interesting topics, taken from history, politics, culture, and society.

ReadOur blog is the complement to our Podcast - it provides you with the transcript of the Podcast, and an English translation, which you can use for reading comprehensions, or to read along with the podcast when you're struggling to understand. It also highlights key vocabulary and provides a separate list for you to use as a learning tool.
